With the help of the MirRam Group, GNYHA was able to avoid devastating Medicaid cuts and secure healthcare funding for New York Hospitals, including a permanent increase in Medicaid, contributions to the Healthcare Facility Transformation Fund, and funding for capital improvements.

Challenge
GNYHA is more than just another industry association. It is the frontline guardian of New York’s health care … protecting our hospitals from devastating cuts and championing the patients they serve every single day. GNYHA is always fighting to ensure New York’s most vulnerable populations have access to the best care by advocating for increased Medicaid funding.
Results
For nearly a decade, MirRam Group has helped GNYHA develop and execute successful strategies in Albany to safeguard our hospitals and address inadequate Medicaid funding levels. Advocating to the Execute, Legislative leadership and rank-and-file members, MirRam has helped to avoid cuts while helping secure the first Medicaid increase in over a decade in 2023. In 2024, we were able to prevent proposed cuts and assist in creating a new funding stream which will add billions of dollars to our hospitals and New York’s most vulnerable populations.
