Addressing challenges faced by civic, arts, and cultural groups to turn a vision into a reality.
Client
PEOPLE’S THEATER PROJECT
Project Summary
At the heart of the People's Theatre Project (PTP) is a vision to build the largest immigrant-centered performing arts center to empower the voices of New York City's diverse communities as well as cultivate the work of local artists and arts organizations. The MirRam Group has been instrumental in turning this vision into a reality.

Challenge
A strategic partner was needed by PTP when the Adams Administration selected them to lead the groundbreaking initiative of building the Immigrant Research and Performing Arts Center (IRPAC), which received $15 million from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The process of securing public investment and championing this historic project was going to be complex.

Results
The success of the project has been attributed to MirRam's ability to craft compelling narratives and understanding of equity-forward thinking. Key stakeholders including the NYC Cultural Affairs Department, Manhattan City Council Delegation, and NYS Puerto Rican/Hispanic Legislative Task Force have supported the initiative. By leveraging our strategy prowess and ongoing commitment, PTP secured champion buy-in for Fiscal Year 2024 well in advance of traditional budget deadlines. In addition, a capital request was presented to influential groups, including the Manhattan Borough President and the Council Black, Latino, Asian Caucus.
