Eduardo Castell

Eduardo has over 30 years of experience as a strategic consultant, government executive, non-profit leader, and campaign professional. One of New York City’s leading political strategists and government relations professionals, Eddy joined the MirRam Group as Partner in 2010 and was appointed Managing Partner in December 2017. He advises elected officials and senior-level executives of corporations, trade associations, labor unions and nonprofit organizations on public affairs, strategic planning and communications. He successfully led three historic campaigns as lead political consultant for Attorney General Letitia James in 2018 and Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez in 2017, and as campaign manager for Bill Thompson for NYC Comptroller in 2001. As Manager Partner at the MirRam Group, Eddy oversees all lobbying, communications and management of a Latino owned strategic consulting group that is one of New York’s top public affairs firms. 

From 2001 to 2009, Eddy served as Executive Deputy Comptroller for the City of New York, guiding an agency with a $65 million operating budget, over 700 employees, and a pension portfolio exceeding $100 billion.  Previously, he worked for as Chief of Staff to U.S. Representatives Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) where he successfully worked to bring millions in federal monies to New York City and provided counsel on housing, banking, economic development, and education policy. Eddy also has an extensive background working with non-profit organizations in the areas of education, housing, social services and the arts.

His civic activities include Chairing the Board of Directors of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, which promotes Afro Latin Jazz through performance, preservation and education programs in NYC public schools. He is former Vice-Chair of the Connecticut College Board of Trustees, and is a Director of Math4Science which promotes STEM education. Eddy immigrated to America as a child and was raised in the Inwood/Washington Heights section of New York City. He is a graduate of Regis High School and received his B.A. from Connecticut College. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife Jennifer and has 2 grown sons.
